Testing in agile brings its own challenges in terms of
- Inadequate time to test within sprints
- Relatively higher number of builds to test
- Insufficient test coverage
- Insufficient time to complete all required automation scripts
- Identifying the right amount of regression to run based on user stories/defects delivered in sprint
This talk focusses on how to deal with these challenges by using smart tools and processes that help with automated change impact analysis and recommend a small concise set of tests that must be run for each build based on business risk and test coverage.
This topic will cover How to transform traditional testing to support agile project delivery, its challenges and best practices.Speaker Profile

E-commerce and mobile commerce have dramatically changed the way brands reach customers, making it faster and easier for consumers to make purchases on the fly while avoiding the hassles of going to the store.

On referring case studies of leading E-commerce companies the major IT challenges faced are:
Optimizing performance of resources at minimal infrastructure cost
Maintaining availability of frontend applications round the clock
Managing unpredictable website traffic efficiently
Reducing time to market
The Traditional Development methodologies might not be fully equipped to handle such demanding scenarios. This demands a more agile, rapid and continuous development methodology such as DevOps. DevOps is a methodology which strongly recommends the collaboration of development and operations team, Automating redundant task, Delivering customer value early with continuous process improvement.
To create a great customer experience, delivering quick solution is just not enough and has to be backed up with great quality always. To keep pace with the rapid and agile development, a well thought and managed end to end test automation is inevitable.
Through this white paper we aim to present our end to end test automation solution/framework (DTAS – DevOps Test Automation Solution) which largely addresses the challenging demands of testing & quality in a DevOps setup, thus enabling the business to overcome the above mentioned challenges in an efficient way.
The Solution/framework detailed in this whitepaper talks about effective implementation of test automation in the areas of:

With systems getting larger and larger and more complex, it is
becoming challenging to keep it with Testing the whole system and
impacts user experience.
Typically systems used to get designed & developed with ³requirements and specifications². Test Automation is done based on these and goes step by step on how it was designed.
But, we all know users use the system in a particular way and it may not be the same way it is designed. So, over test automation coverage may not be adequate.
Large software systems like Outlook and Excel are used by millions of users worldwide there are certain users use it in a way and others use it in different way. The key here to understand the behavior and plan the test automation accordingly. It is two prong way one, we need to come up with Analytics probes to understand feature usage patterns and create those stories and second need to have an in-built App monitoring in place to capture the ³real² behavior - both of these gets translated into "Day in a Life". At Microsoft, we build a system to be able to do this called ³Day-In-A-Life² and helped setup a story upfront and then measure and use it to optimize the user experience with inbuilt measures and analytics.
In this presentation Mukesh Jain is going to share his experience implementing Analytics driven Test Automation with ³Day-In-A-Life² approach.
