The Blockchain Summit, organized by the UNICOM will take place on 17th March 2017 Bangalore, India. The Blockchain Conference 2017 will bring together a diverse range of experts who will discuss all the opportunities, challenges and exciting possibilities in innovation and disruption that can be leveraged in Bangalore using this technology.

Blockchain is a revolutionary technology that minimizes fraud and maximizes efficiency, security & transparency in supply chains, healthcare, global money systems, financial technologies, democratic elections, auction of public assets, energy trading, electronic record authentication, delivery of Government services, IoT and much, much more. Blockchain technology in the information age represents the critical intersection between the financial rails, social networking, and powerful decentralised networks. It is critical for stakeholders to formulate careful legal and business strategies around novel business models as the technology and infrastructure, as well as the corresponding market appetite and regulatory structures, evolve rapidly in disparate global markets.

X Topic Abstract

Evolution of Blockchain technology is quite intriguing , it started as a distributed and decencentralized currency solving blockades in the financial space and it is destined to unriddle the consumer-supplier interactions by SMART CONTRACTS.

Blockchain can be considered as a subconscious mind which takes an input as Smart Contract from conscious/rational mind. The logics(contracts) or their consequences(transactions) cannot be altered once it is deployed in blockchain just as we cannot alter our basic composition and the past. So, we are in an ecosystem(blockchain) where we can build our future as we like.

Smartcontract plays a pivotal role in the blockchain system. Unlike traditional market where technologies are behind consequences, but Blockchain is behind the cause. How? Here we are eliminating third-party involvement which is contrary to other technologies.

How transactions are made?
How the data is stored?
How the transactions are verified?
How the Public and Private blockchain works?
Scalability of technology?
Will be covered.

I'm Sumukh Shetty, co-founder at Automte. Automte is working on building next generation decentralised applications using the ethereum blockchain. The first step to achieve that goal is to build a fully automated microexchange for buying ethers. Our product is in the MVP stage now.

We believe that blockchain will be playing an important function in society, just like the internet. We see that this is India's opportunity to build world class applications and our vision is to facilitate it as much as we can, hence the speaking engagement. We work from Bangalore.

I will be talking about the potential of the ethereum blockchain, give a basic understanding of how it works, and what are some of the interesting projects on the ethereum blockchain.

Private blockchains were a controversial topic few years ago but now there are hundreds of them. In this discussion, I will try and explain the significance of private blockchain in Enterprise context and decipher what they are and how they are useful. Blockchains are considered to be a new database paradigm and we will discuss why Public blockchain or Ethereum for that matter is not really suitable for Enterprises for at least a decade. We will discuss reasons for the same and also how Private blockchains will be adopted earlier than Public blockchains and are more suitable for large enterprises in near term.

A B and Zee of IoT Blockchain
After the immergence of cloud, analytics, mobility, social and security we are witnessing disruptions in conventional systems like operations and finance. Operations traditionally remained you of shop floor and finance trade barter is thousands of years old.

New business models with software as epicenter has shaken the traditional business models and new business models emerge which do not follow the conventional wisdom and practice. Who would have thought that Facebook, Uber, Air bnb and Alibaba will emerge as leading content provider, largest cab less service, zero real estate owner and no inventory respectively.

Let’s consider operations and finance, with the IT and OT convergence theme – Internet of things give rise to possibility where MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) will feed the ERP, EAM and SCM. With shared decentralized ledger, terms and conditions of the contract will be visible to all parties and verifiers for depute resolution.

If you read about Internet for things for next two weeks you will realize that it is all about real time events and sensor data and use cases of Asset Health, availability and tracking and efficiency. If you read about Blockchain for next two weeks you will realize it is all about hashing and encryption.

Watson IoT Platform and Mainframe Z are two foundation technologies from IBM which is a perfect match in heaven. Watson IoT platform provides highly reliable, Scalable and Extensive IoT platform and which can handle millions of messages per second real time. Mainframe Z can provide 7x faster Hashing and 6x faster encryption for blockchain transactions.

If you are IoT and blockchain applications, like Farm to Table which details use case where vegetables and fruits or flowers need to reach from destination A to destination B and multiple parties are changing hands which are party to a shared smart contract with agreed terms and conditions. The sensors of the goods container can transmit the temperature events to the IoT platform and IoT platform can write to the blockchain. In the event of malfunction, the reviewer can validate the event data from Blockchain.

In the same example if the bank, telecom or manufacturing wants to validate the end customer documents which will also involve external 3rd parties or wants to view the shared smart contract in the example above. Then the Content application can write the unique document identifier as a block in the blockchain. This block will be accessible to the verifying agencies, parties and vendors who can then validate the identity of the customer or contract documents.

As a developer, you don’t need to worry about the validation and verifications of the business transactions since that part will be addressed by the Blockchain with assured performance (hashing) and security (encryption)
