The Blockchain Summit, organized by the UNICOM will take place on 06th July 2017 Manila. The Philippines E-Commerce Roadmap was released last February 2016 and all hands are on deck for its implementation. Janette Toral will share an update on its progress and share insights on where blockchain fits in the Philippines e-commerce picture.

She helped the Department of Trade and Industry in crafting the Philippines E-Commerce Roadmap (2016-2020) released last February 2, 2016.

She participated in the International Visitors Leadership Program 2011 (individual program) sponsored by the U.S. Embassy. Featured as 1 of the 6 women innovator at the APEC Women and Economy Summit 2011, San Francisco, USA.

Recognized as Champion of Philippine Internet & E-Commerce Hall of Fame Award by Asian Institute of E-Commerce 2010; Globe Tattoo Digital Elder Award 2009; E-Services E-Champion Awards 2008 - Policy and Legal Category by the Department of Trade and Industry / CITEM / Board of Investments; International Schools Cyberfair Ambassador Award 2004 & 2002 given by Global Schoolnet USA; World Summit for the Information Society (WSIS) Philippines Awards 2003 E-Learning Category for her E-Commerce Workshop Online.

Former technical consultant / executive director of the Congressional Oversight Committee for the E-Commerce Law. She worked on policy creation in consumer protection (value added services, e-commerce, e-banking), data privacy for private sector, & e-payment in government.

As founding president of Philippine Internet Commerce Society, she worked on the passage of Y2K Law & E-Commerce Law. Retired in 2002. Former board member of Philippine Computer Emergency Response Team (PH-CERT), Internet & Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), Philippine Macintosh Users Group (PhilMUG).

Lito is among the few subject matter experts, thought-leaders, and practitioners in inclusive digital finance. He has over 20 solid years of experience in the fields of banking, payments and telecommunications industries. He started the fintech business in the PLDT Group in 2013 with trailblazing digital financial innovations meriting more than 30 global and regional accolades, including being cited as one of Asia's 100 Fintech Leaders, the first and only Filipino included in such list.

Prior to his current role as managing director of FINTQ, the financial technology arm of PLDT and Smart's Voyager Innovations, he started his career with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) as its associate editor, then with LANDBANK as one of the pioneer global banking officers when it established its overseas remittance business. This was followed by his stint at the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group as consultant focusing on mobile money transfers in Mongolia. He was then invited by Visa to be the lead in customer strategy and market activation on global mobile payments covering 35 markets in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. He earned two graduate degrees, a Master in Public Administration with magna cum laude honors, and a Master in National Security Administration with the distinction of being its youngest graduate, thus far.

Speaker Profile

Amethyst Punay is currently employed in IBM Global Process Services as Resource Management Coordinator. Prior to this role, she supported IBM Cloud Business Office as a Business Analyst. She is a two-time IBM Top Talent Awardee. She finished her undergraduate course in the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. She is also an MBA 2017 Candidate from the same university and is expecting to receive her diploma this June 2017.
