“Cloud-Native” is a Software as a Service ( SaaS) approach that is emerging as a dominant platform for Enterprise Computing. Many enterprises are building and running “Cloud-Native” applications that exploit the advantages of this cloud computing delivery model; the inherent ‘hybrid approach’ is making this ,a flexible and scalable method. Most important is the ability to offer nearly limitless computing power, on-demand, along with modern data and application services for developers.
The day’s format: a combination of mini-workshops, panels and presentations.
The influx of technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT and ML has rendered traditional businesses redundant. Rapidly changing customer needs force firms to evolve and adapt. Digital transformation is the new paradigm, that helps them stay ahead of the competition. Firms leverage the support of the cloud to set up robust digital transformation frameworks. Cloud fuels innovation by giving a compatible set of APIs for developers. Firms can reuse enterprise data. Cloud offers analytics, functional programming, and low code platforms. It is essential for informed decision making. According to a survey by Logic Monitor, public cloud engagement and adoption is being driven by enterprises pursuing digital transformation. By 2020, a whopping 83% of workloads will be hosted on the cloud. (Source –Forbes) 74% of Tech CFOs believe that cloud computing will have the greatest impact on their business. (Source – Forbes) 89% of enterprises plan to adopt or have already adopted a digital transformation business strategy with Services (95%), Financial Services (93%) and Healthcare (92%) at the top. In another study, executives considered digital transformation important for survival in the competitive space. (Source –Forbes) Companies are pushing for digital transformation because it enables an enhanced customer experience, faster time to market and greater innovation.
A study by IDG reveals that 92% of executives consider digital business plans as part of their firm’s strategy. 63% of executives are very close to realizing their digital transformation goals. Businesses that implement cloud computing and digital transformation report enormous growth and improved efficiency. It enables them to stay relevant and thrive in a dynamic ecosystem
Digital transformation involves finding newer business models. Firms must continuously innovate to stay in the game, and cloud is the catalyst that fuels innovation. As businesses begin to adapt their processes to a digital space, they require cost and work efficiency, elasticity agility and scalability. The cloud provides all of these features like Agility, Cost and Labor Effectiveness, Security , faster prototyping. In spite of its impressive benefits, businesses are moving away from an only public cloud model. A mix of both public and private cloud enables organizations to bring about regulatory compliance, ensure data supremacy, cost optimization, and security. A study by RightScale shows that 85% of firms are using a hybrid cloud strategy.
Hybrid cloud makes faster delivery of apps and services a reality. Firms can combine on-premise systems with an external cloud services provider in a way that provides maximum efficiency. Microsoft has recently introduced the Microsoft Azure Stack, where firms can manage both private and public cloud on a single azure platform
In an increasingly complex world, organizations are looking for ideas on how to sustain and grow business in the digital era; improve time-to-market and end-user experience; extract value from business data, stay secure and compliant; capitalize on new tools that enables innovation; take advantage of programmable infrastructure for speed and cost benefits; exploit the agility and cost benefits of distributed platforms and cloud services.
However, today’s world is a multi-cloud world, with multiple cloud services from multiple providers. This growing complexity is creating a cloud gap between what cloud applications require and what people, processes, and tools can support. The result? Fragmentation. Loss of control with respect to data and security. AND loss of speed
This session will cover how Multi Cloud combines on-premise operations with services & applications running on multiple cloud providers.
With Cloud native emerging as the dominant approach to building apps, tools to help manage them are proliferating equally fast. Most IoT Cloud native applications have an edge counterpart that requires the same level of attention by way of management. This talk focusses on how tools like kubernetes that have become the de-facto application management choices in the cloud are being adapted and adopted for managing edge applications. While the edge beholds different challenges and restrictions, the ubiquitous nature of these tools is forcing vendors to offer a single pane of management for all applications.
Growth in data, its application in AI and demand for better compute and accuracy has sought for better strategies than ever before. The standards are still evolving in incorporating AL/ML into cloud-native environments. Factoring and deploying AI into modular micro-services on cloud native environment is gaining importance. In this talk, let us explore the recipes and strategies for converging on a better AI go-live strategy for various applications like chatbot, image processing, near real time prediction, to accelerate the industrialisation in enterprises.
This will be a session from a technical and from a product and project management perspective. Building ai and ML into products requires a different mindset due to research required which requires engineers, product and project managers to have a unique process different from traditional product development. Further this can be complicated in a Multi tenant cloud environment to do it right. This session will provide some general practices that can help application engineers and data science engineers and project and product managers build in ai and ml in products.
Every cloud vendor offers a number of ways to host application code. There are set of key decision criteria to reach a recommendation on selecting the right compute option. In this talk we will talk about various IAAS/PAAS/FAAS options available in cloud.
Multicloud is the new normal today. A recent study showed that 85% of the companies are already operating in the multicloud environments and by 2021, it is going to be 98%!! It’s no secret that innovative technologies, empowered consumers and digital disruptors are inexorably changing the business landscape, including instigating the proliferation of cloud-based services. Instead of ignoring or attempting to stifle organizational forays onto multiple clouds, IT needs to get better at facilitating, orchestrating and optimizing enterprise multicloud footing. The majority of these environments are comprised of multiple hybrid clouds. Hybrid clouds can connect one or more public, private or hybrid clouds to on-premises systems and can network one or more clouds to other clouds. Enterprises that assemble harmonized multicloud platforms now can position themselves for greater competitive advantage and lower costs. But it won’t be easy. This session outlines the challenges, benefits and a clear path to adoption of multicloud management strategy.
One of the issues with the cloud today is the packaging of applications being offered as the service. A big application holds the resources and lacks flexibility while a short one calls for too many transactions to realize a solution. To address the same in cloud native, a mechanism based on the traffic statistics, buffer dynamics and intended SLA s( service level agreement) will be discussed. A case study implemented in the past indicating the reduction in the latency by a factor of 10 would be provided.
Another feature of the cloud native is the dynamic scheduling of the containers. The same would be illustrated with the help of a deep learning scheduler. Improvement in the quality of service (QoS ) parameters would be explained.
Rakshak(Cloud Security) is a untold set of five short stories on Cloud security and I would tell the world as a messenger in cloud ( Meghadootam) as to how cloud security becomes the Panchatantra for cloud professionals. These principles will be basic arsenal ( kavach) to keep data safe in cloud.
