India Testing Awards 2023 recognises those organisations and practitioners that have stepped away from legacy tools and processes to create Testing programs that define the future of IT Software Development, Services and Support. This will be awarded to the most outstanding software testing leader.

Jury will be looking for:

• Excellent people management and communication skills
• Evidence of achieving project aims and targets through effective leadership
• Proof of commitment to the wider testing and QA community
• Examples of procedures put in place to ensure high quality results
• Evidence of a commitment to high quality and standards
• Demonstration of self-evaluation, commitment to self-learning and improvement
• Evangelise modern test practices, methods and find new ways of doing things – Ex: Usage of machine learning tools, analysis et al

1. Testing Project of the Year 2023
Awarded to the most outstanding testing project

Jury will be looking for:

• Evidence of working closely with stakeholders to deliver the project on time and within budget
• Demonstration of a successful software testing project utilising a best practice method/technique
• Verification of project goals, importance, achievements and successful results
• Evidence and evaluation of overcoming project challenges/obstacles
• Detailed discussion around project methodology and justification of resource choices
• Evidence of commitment to industry best practices and standards
• Evidence of cost savings, revenue generation or any value generated to the customer (internal, external)

2. Emerging Technology in Testing of the Year 2023
Awarded to the most outstanding emerging technology in testing

Jury will be looking for:

• Detailed discussion around project methodology and justification of Emerging technology choices and application
• Cutting-edge and fit-for-purpose technology was correctly and effectively used.
• Verification of project goals, importance, achievements and successful results
• Evidence and evaluation of technology being used to overcome project challenges/obstacles
• Evidence of commitment to industry best practices and standards
• Evidence of adoption of technology and that resulted in significant business benefits (cost savings or revenue generation)

3. Testing Team of the Year 2023
Awarded to the most outstanding overall testing team of the year.

Jury will be looking for

• Evidence of a cohesive team identity and unity
• Outstanding communication demonstrated within the software testing team and with other stakeholders
• Evidence of achieving project aims and targets through effective team work
• Commitment to the wider testing and QA community
• Evidence of a strong team ethos
• Proof of continued commitment to improving, up-skilling and self-development
• Evidence of teams creating or contributing to open source, intellectual property like publications, or testing community contribution

4. Testing Tool/Product of the Year 2023
Awarded to the most outstanding testing tool/product

Jury will be looking for

• Did the product provide cost saving or revenue generation to the organization?
• Did it improve productivity of the testing teams?
• Did the product provide any “wow” factor that impacted customer (internal/external) business?
• How did the product perform in terms of product adoption, ease of use, implementation Is it referred/used in community and usage at various levels of eco system in the industry?

5. Graduate Tester of the Year 2023
A recent graduate, who has completed university or an apprenticeship scheme in the last 2 years, who has shown outstanding commitment and development in the testing field.

Jury will be looking for

• Evidence of outstanding commitment and development in the testing field
• Proof of excellent communication skills with all stakeholders
• Efforts to keep up-to-date with trends, guidelines and best practices in the industry
• Evidence of a dedication to self training and improvement
• Demonstration of successful outcomes that meet the aims and targets set
• Proof of engagement with the wider testing and QA community

6. Best Contributor to Open-Source in Testing 2023
Awarded to best contributor to open-source in Testing.

Jury will be looking for

• Impact and Significance of Contributions
• Consistency and Long-term Commitment
• Technical Expertise and Depth of Knowledge
• Community Engagement and Collaboration
• Leadership and Initiative
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
• Collaboration with Project Maintainers
• Impact on the User Community
• Openness to Feedback and Willingness to Learn
• Overall Influence on the Open-Source Testing Community

7. Leading Supplier of Products and Services
Awarded to leading supplier of Products and Services

Jury will be looking for

• Demonstrated dedication to delivering superior quality and adhering to industry standards to meet customer expectations.
• Collaboration with Project Maintainers
• Firm resolve to ensure customer satisfaction and a relentless pursuit of improvement.
• Substantiated indications of providing excellent value for investment, reliability, adaptability, and agility in response to evolving needs.
• Tangible evidence of pioneering ideas and a strong ambition to excel in the field of Software Testing and Quality Assurance, positioning the company as a thought leader.

8. Best Start-up in Software Testing
Awarded to best star-up in Software Testing. Entity that was incorporated or registered within the last seven years are eligible.

Award submission guidelines:

1. More than one submission per category is allowed.
2. There can be more than one submission from a company.
3. The nominee must be an organization or individual as appropriate for the category
4. UNICOM program committee may invite people or organizations to nominate themselves, without guarantee or prejudice
5. Nominees must complete the nomination form and include all relevant information for validation and confirmation
6. There would be a nominal fee per category to ensure serious nominations (details given below)
7. All submitted proposals shall be referred to jury members who will be selecting the best 5 proposals in each category.
8.Your project will be evaluated based on the information you provide. We hence request you to spend comprehensive time in filling out the details pertaining to your project.
9. Once the proposal qualifies for the final nominations, the same shall be informed to you.
10. Winner’s name shall be declared on the Awards day.

Become a Judge – India Testing Awards 2023
Judging for India Testing Awards 2023 will take place in October-November. You will be asked for approximately 4 hours of remote judging over a week’s period and one full day of attendance on the Awards day (Thursday, 23 November, 2023)
